About Katie Lloyd
Hello, I’m Katie Lloyd, an artist driven by a deep passion for creativity and self-expression. As an intuitive artist I use my guidance and connection to source within my creative practice.
Influenced by the works of notable artists like Betty Dodson, Georgia O’Keeffe, Norman Lindsay, John William Waterhouse, the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, and the Art Nouveau period, I infuse my art with bohemianism and timeless beauty.
Education
My artistic journey began as a self taught artist. My formal education began at visual arts Byron Community College. I then attended Southern Cross University, where I honed my skills and experimented with different styles and techniques.
Medium
Watercolor is my primary medium and first love, but I also enjoy using ink and acrylic on canvas to bring depth and dimension to my creations. Digital tools are an essential element and an amazing addition to the modern day art practice.
I love to embrace the magic and play of watercolour, allowing the pigments to blend and create their own unique expressions on the paper.
Through layered textures and gradients of light, I strive to evoke deep emotions in those who experience my artwork.
Creative Themes
One of my passions revolves around the creation of sacred yoni portraits. These pieces capture the essence of femininity, sensuality, body positivity and empowerment, celebrating the divine feminine energy within us all.
My art explores various themes, including sexuality, gender, spirituality, and the connection between the sacred and the natural world. Animals, such as kookaburras, roosters and hens often find their way into my pieces. They representing the wild and free aspects of our being. Additionally, floral art plays a significant role in my work, with bearded irises, roses, and peonies recurring as symbols of beauty and the sacred feminine.
