This artwork depicts a woman resting under an arching apple tree and practicing the Yoni Mudra hand posture. The sun behind her head forms a halo like ring of light. A dear and owl are her familiar animal guide. A vine growing up her leg reflects her connection to mother earth.
In yoga, mudras refer to hand, eye or body positions that facilitate energy flow in the body. Yoni mudra is believed to invoke the primal energy present in the womb or the source of creation.
